The Port Dover Yacht Club is a non-profit, run by volunteers who deliver sailing programs for new and returning sailors every year. As CANSail levels changed, new instructors came on board, and interest in advanced programming grew, the club’s registration simply couldn’t keep up.
Cash payments were slow and risky. Families found the process hard to navigate, and important emails kept landing in spam folders. Adjusting a payment method mid-registration was a headache, and there was no easy way to change program dates. A revised CANSail structure and new programs only added to the load – including the challenge of sailors not finishing CANSail 3 or 4 within a single week.
Checklick didn’t just hand over a tool and walk away. The team guided families through the process directly – helping them find emails, walking them through CANSail levels, and getting them comfortable with the storefront. That hands-on support made it far easier to explain the updated pathways and promote what came next.
With registration finally under control, PDYC could focus on growth. The club ran a targeted email campaign to eligible sailors about a brand-new two-week program, then surveyed families on their preferred dates – locking in a schedule that actually worked for them before the program even opened.
Registration became faster and more streamlined, cutting time and effort for everyone involved.
