West Hawk Lake Yacht Club is a sailing organization in Manitoba that serves 30 to 50 sailors each summer and has a core group of about 30 to 40 dedicated members. The club offers learn-to-sail programs, monthly races, and wellness activities like yoga and fitness classes. Since its revival 20 years ago, the club has grown steadily on a modest budget, developing facilities that now include a garage, docks, and an AED machine.
Before adopting Checklick, the club relied heavily on paper-based methods. Applications and waivers were filled out manually, and registration fees were collected in cash. Administrative tasks were performed without remote access or digital records, making coordination more difficult. Instructors also lacked easy access to updated participant lists – limitations that reduced efficiency and added unnecessary workload for organizers.
Checklick eliminated the need for paper forms and cash handling by moving all registrations and waivers online. It enabled remote access for both organizers and instructors, while providing real-time participant lists to instructors. Financial reporting and administrative tasks became more streamlined, and improved functionality on mobile devices – particularly iPhones – made on-the-go management easier.
The club adopted Checklick across its core programming. Instructors use the platform to view participant lists, while organizers rely on it for registration management and financial tracking, helping the club keep up with growing enrollment while reducing administrative complexity.
